According to reports, the enhanced products and functions of Cisco's new routed optical network are as follows:
- The NCS 1010 open fiber optic line system utilizes C-band and L-band transmission in undeveloped areas and abandoned vacant area applications, doubling the fiber capacity of only C-band transmission.
- Bright 400G ZR/ZR+ pluggable optical modules, which can be plugged into ZR/ZR+ compatible ports of multi-vendor DWDM network elements.
- Standardized private line emulation to support legacy bit transparent services over IP/MPLS infrastructure.
- Enhanced Cisco Crosswork network automation to provide multiple layers of automation assurance and supply and optical automation for the company's complete optical portfolio.
- The new Cisco Customer Experience (CX) Consulting Service will provide consulting, planning, solution validation and extended support services for customers using routed optical networks.
