The World's First Domestically-made Full-band Communication Chip AR8030 Released

When it comes to Wi-Fi chips, many people know that its main frequency bands are 2.4GHz and 5GHz, but there are pain points such as poor anti-interference and short transmission distance. The domestic chip company Kuxin Microelectronics recently released an AIoT chip AR8030 , is the world's first communication chip covering the full frequency band of 150M-7GHz.

According to Shen Bo, the founder and CTO of Kuxin, the traditional WiFi solution mainly supports two frequency bands of 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz, and has stronger penetrating power. However, it also has the disadvantage of limited transmission distance and is not suitable for long-distance transmission scenarios such as outdoors.


However, both penetration and transmission distance of 900MHz will be several times that of 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz. Even under the same transmission distance, the transmission power of 900MHz is much lower.


With the full-band solution, the AR8030 can better meet indoor/outdoor scenarios with different transmission distances, different transmission rates, and different power consumption requirements, and has good adaptability worldwide.


Kuxin mentioned that this chip not only covers the full frequency band, but also has a comprehensive improvement in all aspects of performance, especially in terms of transmission distance, high bandwidth, low power consumption, and anti-interference.


Among them, in terms of transmission distance, the chip supports the fourth-generation AR-Link technology, and the transmission distance is increased by more than 50%. It can cover an area of 3,000 square meters indoors and can also pass through walls. The outdoor transmission distance is 4 times that of competing products. Supporting a distance of more than 10 kilometers, the link failure rate has dropped by 95%.


Not only is the distance long, but the speed and anti-interference performance are also very good. In an open environment, at a height of 100 meters, the transmission distance of the AR8030 for a 1Mbps stream is 10 kilometers, which is more than three times that of the Wi-Fi 4/5 solution. The anti-interference ability It is more than 10 times that of Wi-Fi.


It is worth mentioning that AR8030 can achieve such a high performance, which is also related to the CPU core it uses. This is a cooperation between Kuxin Company and Ali Pingtou, and the latter's RISC-V platform is used, which is aimed at embedded platforms. E907 solution.


Kuxin said that the high-computing AI SoC they are cooperating with Pingtouge is also in progress, and will use the latter's high-performance RISC-V platform.
