
The bandwidth or data throughput of the EOC Master is depended on how many frequencies it can use.
Working on the same coaxial cable network of 5 - 1000MHz, the CATV uses more frequency, meanwhile, the EOC uses less frequency.
Usually, they have the following partitions:
- EOC: 5-42MHZ, the theoretical throughput is 100Mbps, and it supports around10 EOC slaves practically; CATV: 54MHz-870/1000MHz.
- EOC: 5-65MHZ, the theoretical throughput is 300Mbps, and it supports around 30 EOC slaves practically; CATV: 87MHz-870/1000MHz.
- EOC: 5-86MHZ, the theoretical throughput is 600Mbps, and it supports around 60 EOC slaves practically; CATV: 98MHz-870/1000MHz.
Note 1: There must be a compulsory 12MHz frequency to physically separate the EOC and CATV.
Note 2: When considering how many EOC Slaves that a master can support, it is also necessary to consider the bandwidth available for each slave(Every client prefers a quicker and better internet service when they had paid for it). Affected by network interference and attenuation, the actual bandwidth that each EOC slave can obtain is less than the theoretical value.
