Major manufacturers shine at the OFC Exhibition! TRUMPF Subsidiary Launches 850nm Product Portfolio
Trumpf Photontonic Components, a developer of datacom VCSEL and photodiode solutions, announced that it will showcase its 850-nanometer product portfolio, as well as its future roadmap for longer wavelength products, at the Fiber Optic Communications Expo and Symposium (OFC) next week.
Major manufacturers shine at the OFC Exhibition! TRUMPF Subsidiary Launches 850nm Product Portfolio
The aforementioned subsidiary companies of Trumpf, which has extensive experience in VCSEL R&D, will demonstrate longer wavelength solutions to expand its existing 850 nm VCSEL portfolio. The company is launching VCSEL sensors with wavelengths above 940 nanometers. This meets market demands for wider temperature ranges, higher product robustness, and service life.
It is also reported that the company has just completed its first investment in its production site in Ulm, Germany, amounting to several million euros. It said the investment will be used to upgrade its manufacturing platform and support further business growth.
TRUMPF provides semiconductor laser (VCSEL) and photodiode solutions for consumer electronics, datacom, automotive, industrial sensing, and heating markets. It has shipped more than 2 billion VCSEL chips and photodiodes to date. This time-honored technology was acquired by TRUMPF in 2019.
In addition to TRUMPF, the major optical communication manufacturers on OFC this year are also gearing up for their efforts, exhibiting their own top products one after another:
- Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute presented its all-optical LiFi system consisting of an Ethernet-coupled central unit, modem, and selective combiner, a step-index POF ( Each with up to 8 optical front ends), as well as optical wireless links and USB-LiFi encryption for each user.
- NeoPhotonics announced the open sampling of ZR+ QSFP-DD transceivers. This small form-factor pluggable module is suitable for metro applications and improves the performance of hyperscale data centers and telecom networks.
- HYC launched fiber optic flexible circuits. The circuit provides efficient routing, high core count connectivity, and a fully customized solution.
- VI Systems' VCSELs can reach 200 Gbps PAM-4 at a range of 100 meters. This achievement is the result of a single-lane 200 Gbps high-speed data transmission experiment over a range of 100 meters using PAM-4 modulated multimode fiber.
- OptoTest has launched a new line of handheld fiber optic test instruments. New products include the OP310 Optical Power Meter, the OP350 Optical Source, the OP360 Bidirectional Insertion and Return Loss Tester and the OP380 Insertion Loss Tester. These test equipment are suitable for applications such as data centers, enterprise LANs, telecommunications, aerospace, defense, and industrial networks.
- Norway-UK submarine cable system achieves a record-breaking 800Gb/s line rate via Ciena.
- MRSI Systems' products are recognized by the industry. MRSI Systems (Mycronic Group) has won several awards since OFC 2021.
