1. Matters needing attention when troubleshooting

(1) When the long-distance fiber-optic cable line at the provincial border or at the junction of the two maintenance units fails, the two adjacent maintenance units should conduct inspections and perform repairs at the same time.

(2) The maintenance units of optical cable lines at all levels shall accurately grasp the data of the optical cable lines to which they belong. Proficient in the testing method of the obstacle point of the optical cable line, can accurately analyze and determine the location of the obstacle point. Always maintain a certain repair force, and be proficient in the repair process of the line and the use of emergency equipment.

3 (3) Optical cable maintenance personnel should be familiar with the cable information, be proficient in line repair procedures, obstacle testing methods, and cable connection technologies, strengthen the management of emergency vehicles, and be ready for emergency repairs.

Special equipment, tools, meters, machinery and transportation vehicles for emergency repairs should be relatively concentrated, make a list, and be prepared at any time. Generally, they cannot be borrowed or misappropriated.

2, matters needing attention during processing

(1) During the repair of the optical cable line, attention should be paid to the operation and use of instruments and equipment. Before performing the optical fiber failure test, the physical fiber under test is disconnected from the opposite machine.

(2) Once the fault is removed and qualified after strict testing, the maintenance department will be notified immediately to verify the transmission quality of the fiber optic cable and resume communication as soon as possible.

(3) Make good troubleshooting records. After the fault is removed, the line maintenance department shall promptly organize relevant personnel to analyze the cause of the fault in accordance with relevant regulations, arrange technical data and report it. Sum up lessons learned and propose improvement measures.

(4) When intervening or replacing the optical fiber cable, the same type of optical cable as the same manufacturer as the faulty optical cable should be used, and the optical fiber connector and optical fiber connection loss should be minimized as much as possible. The length of the optical cable involved or replaced in handling the fault should generally be no less than 200m, and the same manufacturer and the same type of optical cable should be used whenever possible. The bending radius of the optical cable after troubleshooting and relocation should not be less than 15 times the cable diameter.
