What is EOC
EOC (Ethernet Over Cable) is an access technology based on the cable television coaxial cable network using the Ethernet protocol. The basic principle is to use a specific medium conversion technology (mainly including impedance conversion, balanced/unbalanced conversion, etc.) to transmit data signals that meet the 802.3 series standard through the coaxial cable to the home. This technology can make full use of the existing coaxial cable resources in the cable TV network to solve the last 100m access problem. According to different media conversion technologies, EOC technology is divided into active EOC technology and passive EOC technology.
