Market Background
Singapore is a country with a highly developed free market economy, with an open market environment, stable prices, and higher per capita GDP than most developing countries. From January to May 2015, the bilateral import and export volume of goods between China and Singapore was US$36.71 billion. Among them, Singapore's exports to China amounted to US$19.74 billion, accounting for 13.2% of its total exports, an increase of 1.1 percentage points. Singapore imported US$16.96 billion from China, accounting for 13.7% of its total imports, an increase of 2.2 percentage points. Singapore's trade surplus was US$2.78 billion, an increase of 7.5%.
