EDFA

Erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) is a key device to achieve direct amplification of optical signals through erbium-doped fibers and pump lasers, which can provide high-gain, low-noise amplification in the 1550nm band (the lowest loss window of optical fibers) without photoelectric conversion, significantly extending the communication distance and reducing the cost of relay. As the core relay solution of modern optical communication systems, it supports the high-capacity transmission of long-distance trunk lines, submarine optical cables, and dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) networks, while promoting the evolution of all-optical networks and 5G fronthaul architectures.
